MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) arrested two drug suspects and confiscated P4.4-million worth of dried marijuana leaves in an interdiction operation in Mountain Province.
PDEA Director General Aaron Aquino said the illegal drugs were confiscated from suspects Jose San Juan Raymundo Jr., 20, and Kian Ty Cortez, who were arrested around 3:30 p.m. on January 13, Monday, by agents of the PDEA Regional Office – Cordillera Administrative Region.
Aquino said the operation stemmed from a report about two men onboard an Ace Finder Bus containing the prohibited drugs.
Confiscated from the suspects were 28 bricks of dried marijuana leaves and nine tubular-shaped dried marijuana leaves weighing around 3.7 kilograms.
Cases for possession and selling of illegal drugs under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against the suspects.
