Village councilor gunned down in Laguna

SAN PEDRO CITY –– A village councilor was shot and killed in Biñan City in Laguna province on Thursday morning.

Laguna police chief Col. Eleazar Matta, in a text message, identified the victim as Lorna Marfil, a councilor in Barangay San Vicente.

The police said Marfil was seen standing next to her motorcycle parked in front of a grocery store in the village when a lone gunman approached and shot her multiple times around 6:45 a.m.

Marfil died while being taken to the Ospital ng Biñan.

The police were still conducting investigations.
