/ 09:02 AM December 30, 2019

MANILA, Philippines — The Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) will be giving commuters free rides on certain hours on Monday, December 30, as the country commemorates the 123rd martyrdom of national hero Dr. Jose Rizal.

In a Twitter post, the MRT-3 management announced that free rides could be availed from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Malacañang has declared December 30 as a regular holiday to mark the anniversary of Rizal’s execution at Bagumbayan in Manila in 1986.
