2 dead as drug buy-bust turns bloody in Bulacan

CAMP GEN. ALEJO SANTOS, Bulacan — Two suspected drug peddlers were killed after they allegedly resisted arrest and fired shots at policemen during a buy-bust operation in the City of San Jose del Monte on Sunday.

Lt. Col. Emma Libunao, acting Bulacan police director, identified the slain drug suspects as Penry Aristain and a certain alias Randy.

Investigators said the two opened fire after sensing that they were transacting with a police agent in Barangay Kaypian about 2 a.m.

Libunao said Aristain was included in the police’s drugs watch list.

Seized during the operation were 23 sachets of suspected shabu (crystal meth), a 12-gauge shotgun and a 38-caliber revolver.
