2 criminology students drown in Dagupan City

DAGUPAN CITY –– Two college students drowned after they were swept out to sea on Monday afternoon.

The Police said Mark Christian Cruz and Daniel John Matias, both 18, drowned at a beach area off Bonuan Gueset village.

The two went for a swim with their two other classmates after visiting a friend in BangusVille subdivision, investigators said.

The four are criminology students at the University of Luzon.

Chris Russel Manuel, 18, survived the incident and is being treated at a hospital while Joebert Versoza is still missing.

A search-and-rescue operation is underway to find Versoza.
