Wife sexually assaulted by intruder while husband slept beside her

The authorities are now seeking the public’s help to track down an unnamed home invader who sexually assaulted a woman in her sleep.

Riverside police officers in California, United States responded to a residential burglary around 2:40 a.m. last Wednesday, Dec. 11, according to the department’s statement posted on Facebook last Friday, Dec. 13.

The authorities learned that a suspect entered a residential home and sexually assaulted the homeowner in her sleep. The police statement did not give specifics about the assault. The wife alerted her husband sleeping beside her, which caused the intruder to flee the scene. The suspect was not located after an extensive search of the area.

Authorities collaborated with the victim to develop a sketch of the suspect. The intruder is described as a Hispanic male adult around 35 to 40 years of age. He is approximately 5 feet and 6 inches tall, and weighs around 80 to 90 kilograms. The suspect was last seen wearing dark clothing.

The attack had the neighborhood concerned about their safety. Some are also taking extra precautions after the incident, ABC’s KABC-TV reported on Dec. 13.

Riverside resident Fernando Belecha stated that with regards to adding security, “We just gotta watch out for the community, and call the patrol, [in case we] see anything unusual.” JB
