Police record 42 kidnap cases linked to casino, Pogo firms
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police-Anti-Kidnapping Group (PNP-AKG) has recorded 42 cases of kidnapping related to casinos and Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (Pogo) firms from January to November this year.
Thirty-six of these cases are related to casinos, while six are Pogo-related, data from the PNP-AKG released to the media on Tuesday showed.
Of all casino-related kidnappings, 21 cases have been solved, while 21 have been rescued among 40 victims during the period.
Fifty-eight suspects, meanwhile, were arrested.
All six kidnapping cases related to Pogo firms have been solved, according to PNP-AKG. Eight of nine victims have been rescued, while 30 suspects were arrested.
Previous cases recorded by the police unit involved foreign nationals, mostly Chinese, kidnapping their prey who owed them money in casinos.
