Fire that hit Cavite foam factory reaches 4th alarm

SAN PEDRO CITY –– A big fire continued to raze a factory of foam in Dasmariñas City in Cavite province on Friday.

Fire Chief Inspector Jude Sumeg-Ang, chief of operations in Cavite, said the fire at the Beta Foam factory in Barangay Paliparan 1 had already reached the fourth alarm as of noon.

Authorities said the fire started around 8:30 a.m.

Sumeg-Ang, in a phone interview, said firefighters were having a hard time putting the fire out as the facility contained foam materials for roof insulations.

Sumeg-Ang said no one, so far, was reported hurt from the fire and that they were certain no employee was trapped inside the burning building./lzb
