Tisoy slightly weakens but Signal No. 2 up in 3 provinces

MANILA, Philippines — Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 2 is now up over three provinces despite the slight weakening of Typhoon Tisoy on Sunday, the state weather bureau said.

Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) hoisted TCWS No. 2 in Catanduanes, Northern Samar, and Eastern Samar.

TCWS No. 1, meanwhile, was hoisted in more areas:

    • Quezon including Polillo Islands, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Albay, Sorsogon, Masbate including Burias and Ticao Island, Marinduque, and Romblon
  • Visayas
    • Aklan, Capiz, northern Iloilo (Ajuy, Anilao, Balasan, Banate, Barotac Viejo, Batad, Bingawan, Calinog, Carles, Concepcion, Dingle, Duenas, Estancia, Lambunao, Lemery, Passi City, San Dionisio, San Enrique, San Rafael) northern Antique (Culasi, Libertad, Pandan, Sebaste, Tibiao), northern Negros Occidental (Cadiz City, Calatrava, Enrique B. Pagasa said Tisoy is forecast to make landfall in Bicol Region between Monday evening and Tuesday morning.

Tisoy was last spotted 705 kilometers east of Virac, Catanduanes with maximum sustained winds of 140 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 170 kph.
