DFA contracts Emirati firm to renew PH passports

/ 04:04 AM November 24, 2019

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has engaged a Dubai company to serve Filipinos in renewing their passports in the United Arab Emirates.

Foreign Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr. and VFS Global head of business development Chris Dix witnessed the signing of the memorandum of understanding for the passport renewal center on Thursday.

It was the first time the government outsourced part of its passport renewal service to a private entity, the DFA said.

It will be followed by similar centers in Abu Dhabi, Riyadh and Jeddah in Saudi Arabia next year.—JEROME ANING
