Suspect in Barrameda slay pushes for case’s dismissal

/ 04:52 AM November 15, 2019

The camp of Manuel Jimenez III, who is accused of murdering his estranged wife, Ruby Rose Barrameda, in 2009, has again sought the dismissal of the motion for reconsideration filed by the prosecution for lack of merit.

The family of Barrameda’s legal counsel appealed last month to the Malabon Regional Trial Court Branch 170 to reverse its decision dismissing the murder and parricide raps against Jimenez.

They claimed the decision was a “testament to the error in judgment and in jurisdiction committed by this honorable court.” The defense, on the other hand, said in their rejoinder that the court had found no sufficient evidence directly or indirectly linking Jimenez to his wife’s murder.

They added that the prosecution failed to present any additional evidence that would merit Jimenez’s indictment even though they were given “ample time” to do so.
