Hold order vs 2 suspects in broadcaster slay sought

03:02 AM November 13, 2019

MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Justice (DOJ) will seek a “precautionary” hold departure order (HDO) against two suspects in the killing of Dumaguete-based radio broadcaster Dindo Generoso on Nov. 7.

The court may issue an HDO to prevent an accused in a criminal case from leaving the country.

Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra said he had ordered the Office of the City Prosecutor in Dumaguete to ask the court for a precautionary HDO against suspects Tomasino Aledro and Cpl. Roger Rubio since murder charges have not yet been filed. Aledro, a businessman, and Rubio, the alleged gunman, are at large while two other suspects, Teddy Salaw and retired policeman Glenn Corsame have been arrested by the police.

“I have directed the Office of the City Prosecutor-Dumaguete to apply for a precautionary HDO against … all suspects who are still at large,” Guevarra told reporters on Tuesday.
