Isko’s birthday wish of citywide cleanup comes true
For Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso’s 45th birthday, he got exactly what he wished for: A simultaneous citywide cleanup drive courtesy of city workers and barangay officials.
On Thursday, some streets were swept, scrubbed or hosed down while several trees at the Manila police headquarters were trimmed.
Plaza Miranda beside Quiapo Church was cleared of illegal vendors while some Manila health personnel planted trees on center islands.
City firemen also hosed down portions of CM Recto in Tondo and Binondo.
Domagoso, in a letter to his constituents several weeks ago, had encouraged residents to join a citywide cleanup campaign on his birthday.
On Thursday, he also inaugurated five health facilities, including a dialysis center equipped with 71 machines.
