Rains in Visayas, Mindanao to affect S. Luzon

MANILA, Philippines—Rains over Visayas and Mindanao will also affect Southern Luzon because of a low pressure area, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Tuesday.

The low pressure area was last spotted 60 kilometers southeast of Zamboanga City. Meanwhile, the tail-end of a cold front is also affecting the Visayas, Pagasa said.

“Southern Luzon will experience cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers while the rest of Luzon will have mostly cloudy skies with light rains. Visayas and Mindanao including Southern Palawan will be cloudy with scattered to widespread rainshowers and thunderstorms, which may trigger flashfloods and landslides,” it also added.

Meanwhile, moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast will prevail over Luzon and Visayas, and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, winds will be moderate to occasionally strong coming from the northeast with moderate to occasionally rough seas, Pagasa said.—Frances Mangosing
