Pagasa’s Monday forecast: Cloudy skies with a chance of rain as ‘Perla’ exits

MANILA, Philippines – Cloudy skies and scattered rain showers due to the northeasterly surface windflow will prevail in Quezon, Camarines provinces and Catanduanes, the state weather bureau said Monday.

In its 4:00 a.m. weather forecast, Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) warned of possible flash floods and landslides in the affected areas.

Pagasa added that said Batanes, Ilocos Norte, Apayao, and Cagayan will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains, while Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.

Typhoon Perla meantime exited the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) Sunday afternoon and weakened to a severe tropical storm.

It was spotted Monday morning 1,215 kilometers (km) northwest of extreme northern Luzon, Pagasa said.

The state weather bureau is also monitoring Typhoon Bualoi which was last spotted 2,670 km east of Southern Luzon.

Pagasa, however, said it is less likely to enter Philippine territory.

Pagasa said the minimum temperature was recorded at 24.9°C at 6:50 a.m. while  maximum temperature is expected to be 33.1°C  at 11:25 a.m. /gsg
