Pangasinan-based bus firm qualifies for Nueva Vizcaya-Manila service route

SOLANO, Nueva Vizcaya –– A Pangasinan-based bus company qualified for a franchise to serve the Manila-Nueva Vizcaya route.

The Five Star Bus Company complied with the requirements of the public vehicle modernization program, according to the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board which disqualified four other applicants.

The Nueva Vizcaya Transport Cooperative and Eaglestar Transport Corp. failed to submit land titles that show they own property in Solano town, the route’s service endpoint, while First Novo Vizcayano Travelers and Bee Liner Express Corp. were unable to submit other documentary requirements.

Residents travel to Manila via Victory Liner and Florida Bus but have complained about a policy that requires them to pay the full rate even when they are bound for areas with smaller distances./lzb
