Pagasa expects improved weather in Metro Manila, parts of Luzon

MANILA, Philippines — The weather in Metro Manila and big part of the Luzon region is expected to improve after Severe Tropical Storm “Nimfa” exited the country, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) reported Saturday afternoon.

Pagasa said improved weather conditions are expected over Metro Manila, the Visayas, and Mindanao regions except for some isolated light to moderate rain showers in the afternoon or evening.

The southwest monsoon or “Habagat,” however, will continue to affect Northern and Central Luzon.

The state weather bureau said no weather disturbances are expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) in the next three to five days.

Pagasa raised gale warning in Batanes, Cagayan, Babuyan, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, and Quezon including Polilio Islands. /jpv
