Village chair slain in Cotabato gun attack

KABACAN, COTABATO – Police are hunting down two men on a motorbike who shot dead on Sunday a village chair here.

Ben Candanganan, 43, village chief of Lower Paatan here, was driving his motorbike along the dirt road leading to his rice field in the same barangay when shot by gunmen on a separate motorbike, according to Colonel Maximo Layugan, Cotabato police provincial director.

Candanganan suffered two bullet wounds in the head and body.

Police found two empty shells for cal. 45 pistol at the crime scene.
