KOTA KINABALU — A woman believed to have taken abortion pills was rushed to hospital after the process went wrong.

It is learnt that the woman in her 20s, who was six months pregnant, was in a hotel room in Kudat district when she swallowed about 20 pills and inserted some into her vagina on Sunday (Sept 8), in the hope of getting her baby out.

Around afternoon the next day (Sept 9), her baby fell out, but the placenta got stuck in her womb.
She had no choice but to inform the hotel staff, who alerted the authorities.
