3 cops sacked for on-duty drinking binge

MANILA, Philippines – Three police officers were relieved from their posts and will face appropriate charges after they were spotted drinking liquor while manning a police assistance desk in Las Piñas City on Friday.

The Las Piñas City police said  the  National Capital Region Police Office – Regional Internal Affairs Service (NCRPO-RIAS) conducted a surprise inspection in the vicinity of Las Piñas City police station and chanced upon the three erring police officers at around 2 a.m.

The police assistance desk where the officers were spotted was near a gasoline station along Alabang-Zapote Road in Barangay Talon Uno.

The three erring officers were identified as Cpl. Robemar Abales, Pat. Samrus Inoc and Cpl. Randy Danao.

They were immediately relieved from their post at the Las Piñas City Police Station 6 together with their precinct commander.

Brig. Gen. Nolasco Bathan, director of the Southern Police District (SPD), told INQUIRER.net that the NCRPO-RIAS will file an administrative case against the three police officers, who are now in restrictive custody at the SPD headquarters in Taguig City. /gsg
