MANILA, Philippines – Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon or “habagat” will affect the Ilocos region, Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) and other parts of Luzon, the state weather bureau said Friday.

In its 4 a.m. weather bulletin, the Philippine, Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) added that Batanes, Babuyan group of islands, Zambales and Bataan will likewise be affected by the “habagat.”

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.  /gsg
