AirAsia to passengers: Discard pork-related products upon arrival at Panglao

MANILA, Philippines — Tourists and other travelers flying to Bohol via AirAsia are advised to dispose of all pork and pork-related products at designated bins at the Panglao Airport due to the ban imposed by the provincial government, the airline said.

In an advisory issued Thursday, the airline said that guests were advised to dispose of such products at designated bins at the airport as they exit the aircraft and after they collect their luggage at the airport’s baggage carousel.

“Failure to do so will be subjected to penalties provided under Philippine law,” the advisory read.

This comes after the Bohol local government banned the import or entry of any pig products due to the threat of African swine fever (ASF) outbreak.
