Family of dentist shot dead in Calbayog offers P3-M reward
MANILA, Philippines — The family of dentist Vicky Rumohr, who was shot dead in Calbayog City, Samar last April, has offered a P3 million reward for any information that will help solve the case.
In a statement, the family said P1 million will be given to the one who can identify the mastermind while the gunman and the motorcycle driver in the shooting will get P1 million each in exchange for their surrender and identification of the mastermind who gave the order to kill the family matriarch.
Rumohr’s daughter Kathleen Rumohr Hugo Valestra alongside other family members and Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption (VACC) national coordinator Rosita Roque recently held a press conference in Calbayog City, stating there are no motives in the killing of the dentist and they do not believe that the incident was politically motivated.
“My mother is well loved and respected in the community and we are puzzled why no one comes out to help us solve the crime. The people seem afraid of pointing to the perpetrators,” Kathleen said.
Kathleen also assured possible witnesses that any information will be treated with “highest confidentiality” and that if needed, their family will help in securing their safety.
Roque, on the other hand, assured that “while justice is not served, VACC will not stop and will continue to help the family in any capacity.”
