‘Go Malasakit’ program airs over Inquirer 990 TV
MANILA, Philippines — “Go Malasakit,” the latest public service program of Inquirer 990 TV, features the stories about the Malasakit Center, Sen. Christopher “Bong” Go flagship project, which offers government health assistance service.
The program shares with digital TV and online audiences nationwide information and success stories of patients who have benefited from the centers.
Viewers may call Inquirer 990 TV’s live hotline 519-1876 during the program for information. Social media audiences may also comment on INQUIRER.net’s Facebook live.
“Go Malasakit” is anchored by Assistant Secretary Jonji Gonzales of the Office of the Presidential Assistant for the Visayas and TV Inquirer host Chona Yu. It airs every Thursday, from 6 to 7 p.m.
The pilot episode, which aired last Aug. 8, had as guest beneficiary Jacob Roa, who recounted how he sought assistance at the Malasakit Center in Pasay City.
Article continues after this advertisementRoa’s 11-month-old baby, Prince Thyrone, was born 30 weeks premature and confined at the intensive care unit of a Pasay hospital for two months.
Roa sought help for the diagnosis, the medical abstract, and hospital bills from the Pasay Malasakit Center.
With the help of the center and support of government agencies, Roa received P100,000 worth of financial assistance.
Roa thanked Go and President Rodrigo Duterte — or Tatay Digong, as he called him — for initiating the project.
A Malasakit Center is a one-stop-shop that intends to simplify the process of giving medical assistance to the Filipinos confined in government hospitals.
Through the center, patients can avail financial assistance from the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office, PhilHealth, the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp., the Department of Health, and the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
So far, there are 40 Malasakit Center nationwide.
Patients of hospitals accredited by Malasakit Center may go to the center nearest them for financial assistance.
Viewers may access “Go Malasakit” on Inquirer 990 Television on Channel 16, 18 on the ABS-CBN TV digibox, Channel 9 on RCA, Channel 23 on other boxes and digital terrestrial television in Metro Manila, Metro Cebu and Davao.
