Former Angat Mayor Gilbert Santos dies at 55

ANGAT, BULACAN –– Former Mayor Gilbert “Reggie” Santos of this town has died, his family confirmed on Friday.

Santos, also a former rebel leader, succumbed to a lingering ailment on Monday, people close to him said. He was 55.

Before his death, Santos went into hiding due to a standing warrant of arrest issued against him following the alleged seizure of firearms and explosives during a raid inside his house on March 13 last year.

He served this town as its vice mayor in 2004 and 2007 and won as mayor in 2010.
