WATCH: Prince Harry, Jane Goodall dance, greet each other like chimpanzees

Prince Harry and world-renowned conservationist Jane Goodall exchanged unique greetings when they met on Tuesday, July 23, at Windsor Castle.

Goodall, known for her groundbreaking work in studying primates, held a gathering for her environmental program “Roots & Shoots” at St. George’s House on the castle grounds. “Roots & Shoots” involves  youth who create environmental projects in their communities.

Prince Harry dropped by the event to meet and address students in the gathering. During the meeting, he and Goodall greeted each other by imitating chimps, as seen in a video posted on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s Instagram page. According to the post, Goodall taught it to Harry when they first met in December 2018. The video also shows them swaying in a dance together.

Harry showed that though he could have light moments, he is serious about environmental conservation. He told students, as quoted in Goodall’s website on Wednesday, July 24: “Whether it be habitat encroachment, huge bush fires, or dangerous levels of carbon emissions, we have contributed to the problem, and now we need to be the ones to create the solutions.”
