MANILA, Philippines – Senate President Vicente Sotto III has credited his Senate colleagues for his high satisfaction rating, claiming that their body of work was the reason for his “very good” score.

“I am humbled and at the same time inspired but would credit it to the diligent work of my colleagues in the Senate,” Sotto said in a message to INQUIRER.net on Wednesday after being asked to comment on his +60 net satisfaction rating in a survey conducted by the Social Weather Stations (SWS) in June 22-26, 2019.

Earlier, reports showed that Sotto has the highest satisfaction rating among top government officials including Vice President Leni Robredo, former House Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, and Chief Justice Lucas Bersamin.

Robredo registered a +28 net score for June 2019, down 14 points from +42 in March; Arroyo’s rating meanwhile was at -20, and Bersamin’s was tallied at +13.

The Senate’s +62 net satisfaction rating was also the highest among other institutions, despite both the Supreme Court and the House of Representatives making record-high scores in June 2019, at +54 and +48 respectively.

The SWS claims to have used face-to-face interviews with 1,200 adult Filipinos in its survey which was divided equally into four locales — Balance Luzon, Metro Manila, Visayas, and Mindanao.  A ±3% margin of error was maintained for national percentages, and ±6% each for the locales.
