SWS: Robredo, Arroyo’s net satisfaction ratings dip; Sotto scores ‘very good’
MANILA, Philippines – The net satisfaction ratings of Vice President Leni Robredo and former House Speaker Gloria Macapagal Arroyo went down in the latest Social Weather Stations survey, while Senate President Vicente Sotto III maintained his “very good” score.
According to SWS, Robredo’s net ratings slid from “good” to “moderate” after falling by 14 points, from +42 in March to +28 in June. Results also showed that her ratings dropped across all locales except in Metro Manila.
“The 14-point decline in the overall net satisfaction rating of Vice President Robredo was due to decreases of 21 points in the Visayas, 18 points in Mindanao, and 13 points in Balance Luzon, combined with a steady net rating in Metro Manila,” SWS said in its report released on Tuesday night.
Arroyo’s scores meanwhile were at -20, down from the -17 in March 2019, despite a three-point increase in the Visayas.
Sotto’s ratings, on the other hand, registered a slight decline, down from +61 in March 2019 to +60 in June. This is mainly attributed to dips in scores from Mindanao, from +58 to +50; and in Balance Luzon, from +65 to +60.

“The 1-point decline in the overall net satisfaction rating of Chief Justice Bersamin was due to increases of 24 points in Metro Manila and 4 points in the Visayas, combined with decreases of 11 points in Balance Luzon and 4 points in Mindanao,” SWS said.
“Net satisfaction with Chief Justice Bersamin rose by two grades from poor to moderate in Metro Manila, up from -11 in March to +13 in June,” they added.
Perception of the Supreme Court was also at its highest since November 1990, scoring +54.
The people’s view of the Senate remained at very good with a +63 rating, up from +62 in March; while the House of Representatives had a record-high +48 score.
The SWS said it used face-to-face interviews with 1,200 adult Filipinos from June 22 to 26 — before Arroyo officially finished her term as Pampanga’s 2nd District Representative and Speaker of the House of Representatives.
The respondents were divided into 300 each for the four locales — Balance Luzon, Metro Manila, Visayas, and Mindanao. Respondents were asked to rate the four officials based on how satisfied or dissatisfied they were with their performance of duties.
The survey had a margin of error of plus-or-minus 3 percentage points.
