MANILA, Philippines — A mini Legislative-Executive Development Advisory Council (LEDAC) meeting may be conducted by Congress just a week after President Rodrigo Duterte delivers his fourth State of the Nation Address, Senate President Vicente Sotto III said on Saturday.

“Incoming House Speaker Alan [Peter Cayetano] and I already talked about it — that a week after the SONA we would have a mini LEDAC right away,” Sotto, speaking in Filipino, said in an interview with AM radio station DWIZ.

Sotto said the mini LEDAC, which could be held on July 29, would tackle the legislative agenda for the 18th Congress.

He said the Senate would probably have “better working relations” with the House of Representatives with Cayetano as Speaker.

“I think that could happen because we could be text mates,” Sotto said. “Maybe Alan would text me to let me know that what we’re discussing in Senate, they’re already discussing in the House. It would be faster. He’s a former senator.”
