P6.2M ‘shabu’ seized in Bacolod buy-busts
MANILA, Philippines — Police have confiscated an estimated P6.2 million worth of crystal meth, locally known as “shabu,” in two separate drug buy-busts in Bacolod City.
Around 405 grams of suspected shabu worth over P5 million were confiscated from four drug suspects during a buy-bust in Barangay Alijis around 3:45 a.m. Thursday, according to a report from Bacolod City Police.
Police seized four large packs, one medium-sized sachet, and three small sachets of suspected illegal drugs; a sling bag; and P1,500 cash believed to be proceeds from the illegal business.
A separate operation at Barangay Banago around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday also led to the confiscation of around 100 grams of suspected shabu worth P1.2 million.
Two drug suspects were arrested during the bust, according to police.
The suspects will face charges for violation of the Republic Act 9162 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. /je
