Suspected drug dealer killed in Pangasinan bust

MANILA, Philippines — A suspected drug dealer was killed in a shootout with police officers in a buy-bust operation in Pangasinan early Thursday.

A report from Col. Rederico Maranan, director of the Pangasinan Police Provincial Office (PPO), identified the suspect as Clark Nardo alias “Sky,” of Barangay Alac San Quintin, Pangasinan.


Police said Nardo is a listed drug personality in Tayog and San Quintin towns in Pangasinan.

Members of the Pangasinan police and the Sta. Maria police station conducted the buy-bust operation and arrested Nardo in Barangay Cauplasan, Sta. Maria at 1:30 a.m.


Police said Nardo resisted arrest and engaged the arresting officers in a brief shootout.

Nardo was injured during the shootout and was rushed to the Eastern Pangasinan General Hospital where he later died.  /muf
