MANILA, Philippines — About 60 passengers were offloaded at the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) Kamuning station on Monday morning after one of its trains encountered a mechanical failure.

The MRT-3 management said the passengers alighted at 8:07 a.m. and boarded the next train four minutes later.

A possible cause of the mechanical failure is worn out or defective mechanical components, the management explained.

To remedy the situation, it said it would implement preventive maintenance, replace of mechanical components, and ensure spare parts are available.
