LPA off Aurora may intensify into tropical cyclone in 48 hours – Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines — A low-pressure area (LPA) off Aurora province is likely to intensify into a tropical depression within 48 hours.

The LPA will be locally named “Dodong” if it turns into a tropical depression, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Monday.

According to Pagasa, the LPA was last spotted 760 kilometers east of Casiguran, Aurora.

Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, Visayas, Mimaropa, Calabarzon, Bicol Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, Zambales, Bataan, and Aurora. (Editor: Katherine G. Adraneda)
