MANILA, Philippines — The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has warned the public against buying and taking unregistered food supplements.

In FDA Advisories No. 2019-155 and 2019-158, the agency said its postmarketing surveillance showed there were 11 food supplements without a Certificate of Product Registration that were being sold to the public.

“Since these unregistered food supplements have not gone through the evaluation process of the FDA, the agency cannot guarantee their quality and safety,” it added.
