Couple weds at hospital so grandmother can attend ceremony
A couple chose to tie the knot in a hospital in Texas, USA, to make sure that the bridegroom’s grandmother could attend the ceremony.
Clay Cameron and his fiancée, Sky Howard, initially planned to wed on Dec. 31, 2019, but opted to hold a special ceremony specifically for Cameron’s grandmother Charlotte Bussard, due to her rapidly declining health, as per ABC-affiliate KOCO 5 News yesterday, June 17.
Bussard’s presence at her grandson’s wedding was important since she is considered to be the matriarch of the family, said Amy Taylor, the photographer who captured the moment, according to the report. The ceremony took place at an undisclosed hospital in Texas, where the grandmother was receiving treatment.
Taylor posted photos of the ceremony on her photography business’ Facebook page on June 6.
“100 years of life. I’m sure many blessings, including watching her grandson, Clay make vows to his soon to be bride, Sky, at the end of this year,” the photographer said. “Since the truth of it is.. we aren’t promised tomorrow but I’m betting she’s made the most of her days.”
