Malacañang has declared several special nonworking holidays in different provinces this month to allow the public to celebrate significant occasions in their communities.

“It is but fitting and proper that people be given full opportunity to celebrate and participate in the occasion with appropriate ceremonies,” read the proclamations signed by Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea that Malacañang released on Friday.

Proclamation No. 735 declared June 15 a special nonworking holiday in Angeles City, Pampanga province, to remember the destructive Mt. Pinatubo eruption in 1991.  It is also a special nonworking day in General Santos City in South Cotabato province on the occasion of its 51st charter anniversary.
