Marijuana plants worth P2.9M burned in Kalinga
TABUK CITY –– Marijuana plantations worth P2.92 million were destroyed by law enforcers at the Kalinga town of Tinglayan on Thursday (June 13).
Agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and the Kalinga police stumbled upon a 1,950-square-meter farm filled with 14,600 fully grown marijuana plants, when they patrolled the villages of Buscalan and Loccong, said Police Col. Russel Balaquit, acting Kalinga police provincial director.
The police did not say whether they have tracked down the farmers responsible for the plantation. Villamor Visaya Jr. INQ
