‘Drug pusher’ slain in Albay; ‘shabu’ seized in Camarines Sur
LEGAZPI CITY — Anti-narcotics police killed an alleged notorious drug pusher in Albay, while another yielded P170,000 worth of suspected shabu (crystal meth) in Camarines Sur on Wednesday night, a police report said.
Maj. Maria Luisa Calubaquib, Bicol police spokesperson, said John Ford Keith Vales, considered a top Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency drug personality, was killed in a shootout with police anti-drug operatives in Barangay Maroroy, Daraga town in Albay around 8:45 p.m.
Vales, sensing that it was a police set up, pulled out his .38-caliber gun, forcing the police to shoot him.
Police found a sachet of shabu of still undetermined amount and the gun in his possession.
In Naga City, Mark Anthony Azada was arrested while selling shabu to an undercover police at 10:35 p.m. in Barangay Triangulo.
