Man stabs 2 men
A man allegedly high on rubber solvent went on a stabbing spree, injuring two men in barangay Centro, Mandaue City.
The suspect, Marty Malazarte, escaped after the attack.
Police said Malazarte first attacked Romel Cuyos, 29, at 11:30 p.m. last Thursday.
Cuyos, a fisher vendor residing in barangay Looc, Mandaue, reprimanded Malazarte whom he saw sniffing Vulca Seal solvent while walking along the road at the old Mandaue City public market, said police.
Police said an angry Malazarte stabbed Cuyos with an ice pick, hitting him in the arm. Cuyos was rushed to the hospital while the suspect ran.
Article continues after this advertisementMore than an hour later, Malazarte was involved in another stabbing where he allegedly stabbed Renelito Padapat, an ice retailer.
Article continues after this advertisementPolice said Padapat was reprimanded for sniffing a solvent inside the old public but the suspect attacked him with an ice pick.
Padapat was wounded in the back. He remained under observation in a Cebu City Hospital.

CENTCOM NOW ON FACEBOOK, TWITTER
THE Central Command launched its own Facebook and Twitter accounts so they can post their programs to the public.
Lt. General Ralph Villanueva, Centcom chief, announced the launching in a media fellowship early this week.
Lt. Col. Christopher Tampus, Centcom public information officer, said Centcom’s accounts will help disseminate information on the military’s programs for Central Visayas.
Tampus said the public can interact by posting messages.
