Police: Start of dawn Masses peaceful

POLICE described the start of the Misa de Gallo as generally peaceful.

More than 200 policemen were deployed in several major churches in the city, said Senior Supt. Melvin Ramon Buenafe, chief of Cebu City Police Office (CCPO).

Buenafe personally inspected several churches in the city. He said policemen were deployed as early as 3 a.m.

Buenafe said the deployment of policemen will continue until the end of Misa de Gallo, a series of dawn Masses held for nine straight days. CORRESPONDENT CHITO O. ARAGON
