PDEA seizes P6M worth of ‘shabu’ in Manila

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) confiscated on Monday over P6 million worth of “shabu” and arrested four suspects in a buy-bust operation in a hotel in Ermita, Manila.

An initial report from PDEA said the operation was launched at around 5:30 p.m. by PDEA members coming from its offices in Metro Manila, Calabarzon, and Bangsamoro Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao.

Arrested in the operation were Soebir Sbir Madaili, 54; Saipoding Pumbaya, 23; Saipoden Alnao Sultan, 32; and Johary Mamocarao Maromaya, 18.

Another suspect identified as Fajad Sultan managed to evade arrest, according to PDEA.

Aside from the seized illegal drugs estimated to weigh 1 kilogram, anti-drug operatives also allegedly recovered a 1,000-peso bill and a 500-peso bill from the suspects.

Cases in violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being prepared against the suspects.
