Couple killed in Samar road crash

ORMOC CITY—A couple was killed when their motorcycle figured in a head-on collision with a bus in Barangay Mahayag in Catbalogan City, Samar Thursday afternoon.

Police Lt. Col. Douglas Eloja, chief of the Catbalogan City police, identified the fatalities as Nonito Malaque, and his wife Michelle—both residents of Jasaan, Misamis Oriental.

Witnesses in the area told police that the victims’ motorcycle swerved to opposite lane and caused the mishap.

The couple was transported to Samar Provincial Hospital where they were declared dead on arrival by the attending physician. (Editor: Gilbert S. Gaviola)
