1 dead, 3 hurt in motorcycle collision in Isabela

RAMON, Isabela — A 27-year-old motorcycle driver died while three others were seriously injured when their motorcycles collided along the national highway here on Wednesday.

Police Capt. Frances Littaua, Isabela police spokesperson, identified the fatality as Ronie Rafael, 27.

Injured were Edison Marcelo, 25; William Palomares, 49, another motorcycle driver; and Eddie Boy Carcueva, 31, a construction worker.

Investigators said the victims were on their way to Santiago City when Rafael swerved to the right shoulder of the road to park his motorcycle but was rammed by the motorcycle of Palomares in Oscariz village at 9:47 p.m.

Rafael was declared dead on arrival at the Southern Isabela General Hospital, where the three other injured victims were confined. (Editor: Leti Z. Boniol)
