PNP chief: No special treatment for ‘Bikoy’
MANILA, Philippines – Philippine National Police (PNP) chief General Oscar Albayalde on Friday denied that the police force is extending special treatment to Peter Joemel Advincula, the man who claims to be “Bikoy” in the “Ang Totoong Narcolist” videos.
Albayalde insisted that Advincula is “no different from other detainees” who are allowed by the PNP to speak to the media.
“Si Bikoy is a criminal with a standing warrant of arrest, inaresto po natin, he is no different from other detainees kung sino yung mga nakakulong at iniinterview nyo na mga media,” Albayalde said.
“Parehong pareho lang po yun na yung mga nakakulong at yung gustong magsalita sa publiko na wala pong pinag-iba si Bikoy doon,” he added.
On Thursday, Advincula appeared in a press conference at Camp Crame, recanting his allegation that President Rodrigo Duterte’s family and allies are involved in illegal drug trade.
