Makati Councilor Yabut hurt in car crash

MANILA, Philippines — Makati City Councilor Nemesio Siddons Yabut Jr. was injured after his Mercedes Benz sedan  crashed into a parked pick-up truck in Makati City on Friday morning.

Makati City police said Yabut, who is 2nd District Councilor, was traversing Ayala Avenue from Kamagong St. towards Yakal St. at about 1 a.m. when the sedan (VFP-939) hit the rear left corner portion of the Nissan Frontier pick-up (ZGY-724) which is owned by Canonaso Celon, 33, while parked in front of the Makati Police Headquarters in Barangay San Antonio.

Police said Yabut was hurt in the incident and was rushed to the Makati Medical Center for medical treatment. According to the Makati Police, Yabut was “reeking of liquor” when he was rushed to the hospital.
