CALBAYOG CITY, Samar — Voting in Eastern Visayas started on schedule except for one village in Silvino Lobos, Northern Samar.

The polling precincts in Barangay Sinomugan opened to its 203 registered voters past noon on Monday, more than six hours after the official start of the voting, because the teachers arrived late.

The village is one of the most remote barangays in the town and can be reached on foot after a six-hour walk. (Editor: Leti Z. Boniol)
