Erap: No Estrada dynasty in Manila, San Juan
MANILA, Philippines – Manila Mayor Joseph “Erap'” Estrada dismissed criticisms that his family is trying to establish a dynasty in the cities of San Juan and Manila.
“There is no such thing as dynasty,” Estrada told reporters after casting his vote in Manila on Monday.
Estrada is running for a third straight term as Manila mayor.
His daughter with actress Laarni Enriquez, Jerika, is a running for councilor in the fourth district of Manila.
His granddaughter Janella is running for mayor of San Juan while Jana Ejercito is running for councilor in the second district of San Juan.
Estrada’s sons Jinggoy and JV are former mayors of San Juan.
Both are senatorial candidates.
“We are voted by the people. The voice of the people is the voice of God so there is no such thing as dynasty. The people decide for us,” Estrada said.
