MRT-3 glitch: 300 passengers unloaded
MANILA, Philippines – Some 300 passengers were unloaded from a north-bound train of Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) on Monday after it encountered a technical problem between the Taft Avenue and Magallanes stations.
The MRT-3 management said the north-bound train encountered a technical problem at around 12:20p.m.
No passengers were reported injured due to the “spontaneous alighting” of passengers, the management noted.
To address the issue, the MRT-3 management said it implemented a provisionary service from North Avenue Station to Shaw Boulevard Station at 1:01 p.m.
As of 1:25 p.m., the train was moved by reverse driving from Magallanes station (north-bound) to the Taft pocket track.
Normal operations resumed at 1:39 p.m., the management said.
