Bad weather cancels Batanes flights — MIAA

MANILA, Philippines — Flight to and from Basco, Batanes, were canceled on Thursday due to inclement weather, the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) announced.

In an advisory on Thursday, the MIAA said the following flights were canceled:

According to a weather bulletin by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), Caraga, Davao Region, and Soccsksargen will have scattered rain and thunderstorms caused by the easterlies.

The easterlies will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain over the Bicol Region, Visayas, and the rest of Mindanao.

Meanwhile, the weather bureau said Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain.

Meanwhile, extreme northern Luzon will have winds of moderate speed coming from the northeast, with moderate coastal conditions.

Pagasa said light to moderate winds from east to southeast will affect the rest of Luzon, with slight to moderate coastal waters.

Finally, Visayas and Mindanao will experience light to moderate winds from east to northeast, with slight to moderate sea conditions.   /muf
