HDO issued to Gaisano son-in-law, associates
A Cebu City Regional Trial Court (RTC) has issued a hold-departure order (HDO) against 10 stock brokerage firm officials, including Derwin Wong, the son-in-law of mall owner Edmund “Eddie” Gaisano Sr., after the group was earlier ordered arrested for syndicated estafa.
Judge James Stewart Ramon Himalaloan of Cebu City RTC Branch 7 issued the HDO against Derwin Wong, Wong Chung Yin, also known as David Wong; Derick Wong; Diane Wong; Davidson Wong; Lucy Chua; Juvy Ting; Susan Lu; Beverly Ansay; and Leonardo Marsan.
Except for Derwin who was arrested in his condominium on April 10 and now in detention, the rest are at large.
Unauthorized trading
The Department of Justice earlier charged the respondents with syndicated estafa over the alleged unauthorized trading of the more than P24-million investment of one of Gaisano’s daughters, Valerie Gaisano-Sebastian.
Derwin, whose family and associates used to run the stock brokerage firm DW Capital Inc., is married to another Gaisano daughter, Eda Frances.
